The Bodyshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the automobile body repair workshop. This includes supervising repair quality, managing workflow and technician productivity, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards. The role also involves team recruitment, training, and retention to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
.Supervise and coordinate all bodyshop activities including denting, painting, panel replacement, and refinishing work.
Allocate jobs to technicians based on skills and workload to ensure timely, high-quality repairs.
Monitor work in progress, conduct quality checks, and ensure adherence to service timelines.
Ensure safe working practices and compliance with environmental and health standards.
Train, mentor, and develop technical staff to enhance performance and capabilities.
Lead recruitment of skilled technicians and support staff in coordination with HR.
Implement strategies to retain skilled personnel, reduce staff turnover, and maintain team morale.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that supports employee engagement and long-term growth.
Drive process improvements, optimize productivity, and assist in meeting cost and revenue targets.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure prompt resolution of service issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Automobile Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in automobile bodyshop operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong technical knowledge of modern body repair methods and paint systems.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience in team building, recruitment, and staff retention strategies.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
