Position Purpose

The primary objective is to support (L2), design and implement reliable, secure and cost-efficient network solutions which support our business requirements. The scope of the team is the WAN connectivity between BNPPF Branches, HQ/RHQ buildings, BNPPF datacenters and the (W)LAN.

BNP Paribas Fortis needs a L2 Support to reinforce the team.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

The L2 Network Engineer is responsible for:

\xc2\xb7 Understand business needs and translate them in IT solutions supporting those business needs

\xc2\xb7 Manage & Monitor all squad assets with standard monitoring tools

\xc2\xb7 Troubleshooting of incidents on squad related technologies, follow-up of those incidents through tools (SNOW)

\xc2\xb7 Open incidents at providers and follow-up

\xc2\xb7 Ensure developed solutions are integrated in the current network topologies

\xc2\xb7 Ensure developed solutions are being supported by the current processes and existing or new network management tools.

\xc2\xb7 Build and test low level design documents based on existing high-level design and standard documents

\xc2\xb7 Implement, according to existing change processes, new network topologies/devices and functionalities

\xc2\xb7 Participate to a 24/7h on-call schedule supporting the assigned network assets (one week once a month)

\xc2\xb7 Ensure standard asset management activities are timely executed

\xc2\xb7 A motivated self-starter, process-oriented, autonomous with high attention to detail

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding projects schedules (50% remote work)

\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work effectively with a multicultural environment

\xc2\xb7 Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching and wireless topologies and their corresponding devices, Cisco Wireless Networks and Remote Access

\xc2\xb7 Cisco Professional (CCNP) level routing, switching, wireless and security certifications

\xc2\xb7 Build and update technical documentation and inventories

\xc2\xb7 Configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks and protocols

\xc2\xb7 Analyze and solve complex network issues

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of Configuration management tools

\xc2\xb7 Good understanding of / follow-up on service operation\xe2\x80\x99s needs (SLA/KPI)

\xc2\xb7 Can work independent and focused to deliver on time and according to a fixed planning
