Chettinad Hospitals is looking for a qualified and detail-oriented

Blood Bank Technician

to support blood collection, testing, storage, and issue of blood and blood components in compliance with statutory guidelines and hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Perform blood grouping, cross-matching, and compatibility testing Collect, process, and store blood and blood components Conduct mandatory serological testing (HIV, HBsAg, HCV, VDRL, Malaria, etc.) Maintain proper storage temperature and monitor blood bank equipment Label, issue, and document blood and blood components accurately Ensure compliance with

NBTC / NACO / Drugs & Cosmetics Act

guidelines Maintain blood bank registers, inventory, and documentation Assist in donor screening, counseling, and phlebotomy Participate in internal and external audits and inspections Follow infection control and safety protocols

Educational Qualification

B.Sc / M.Sc - Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)

or

DMLT

with relevant blood bank experience

Experience

1 to 3 years of experience in a licensed Blood Bank Freshers with relevant qualification may also apply

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of blood bank procedures and transfusion practices Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work in shifts and manage emergency requirements Good communication and documentation skills
