Job Description

Blood Collection: Collect blood samples from donors and patients, ensuring proper identification and labeling. This includes performing venipuncture and assisting with donor registration and screening. Processing and Testing: Process blood and its components for storage and transfusion. Perform essential tests such as blood typing, antibody screening, and compatibility (cross-matching) to ensure safe transfusions. Inventory and Storage: Monitor and manage the inventory of blood and blood products. Ensure blood components are stored under appropriate, controlled conditions to maintain viability. Quality Control: Perform routine checks and calibrations on laboratory equipment. Ensure compliance with quality control standards and regulatory requirements. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities, including patient information, test results, and inventory management. Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, infection control measures, and all relevant regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients. Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to address patient transfusion needs.
