Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all operations of the hospital's blood bank, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant collection, storage, testing, and distribution of blood and blood components. The role involves maintaining quality standards as per NABH, NACO, and other regulatory guidelines, supervising staff, and ensuring adequate blood supply for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily blood bank operations, including donor screening, blood collection, component preparation, testing, labeling, and storage.*
Ensure adherence to NABH, NACO, and Drugs & Cosmetics Act regulations related to blood bank management.*
Maintain accurate documentation and records for all blood units and transfusion-related activities.*
Oversee quality control and calibration of blood bank equipment and reagents.*
Monitor blood inventory levels and coordinate with departments to meet transfusion needs efficiently.*
Ensure traceability of blood units from donor to recipient.*
Implement and monitor infection control and biosafety measures.*
Train, guide, and evaluate the performance of blood bank staff and technicians.*
Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and license renewals.*
Investigate and report any transfusion reactions or discrepancies promptly.*
Liaise with external agencies, voluntary blood donation groups, and organize blood donation camps.*
Prepare monthly reports on blood collection, utilization, wastage, and donor statistics.*
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all operations.*

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: B.Sc/M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / DMLT with specialization in Blood Banking or Transfusion Medicine.

Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a licensed blood bank, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹37,000.00 per month
