Provide information about the organisation's work within the taluka.
Prepare and implement environmental action plans for all villages in the taluka in coordination with cluster heads
Plan and execute initiatives related to tree plantation and maintenance (creating firelines, removal of invasive species making earthen bunds for sapling), in a timely manner
Coordinate and support other teams for soil & moisture conservation activities and setting up of irrigation systems
Ensure irrigation systems
are properly tested and maintained, water management, waste management, cleanliness, and environmental awareness campaigns.
2. Monitoring and Evaluation:
Review the progress of ongoing environmental initiatives and regularly submit reports to senior officials.
Conduct periodic (scheduled) visits to project sites and resources.
Oversee and ensure implementation of activities by the local team in accordance with the organisation's guidelines.
3. Coordination and Liaison:
Maintain coordination with Gram Panchayats, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), schools, local administration, elected representatives, and all taluka-level government departments, and organise meetings with them.
Facilitate communication between the Taluka and District Environment Departments, Forest Department, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, and local institutions.
Ensure that Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Village Development Plan is prepared in all villages of the Block
Ensure regular meetings with Gram Vikas Samitis/CFR Management Committee
Ensure adequate support is provided for livelihoods
4. Awareness and Training:
Organise environmental awareness campaigns, workshops, and training programmes.
Encourage and enhance active participation of the local community in environmental conservation initiatives.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure prompt and effective implementation of all policies as per the organisation's guidelines.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws, policies, and sustainable development standards.
Immediately report any violations or environmental risks to senior officials.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
Submit monthly and quarterly progress reports.
Maintain proper documentation of all activities and expenses.
7. Plantation and Watershed Development
Set an annual target of approximately 500 hectares for the upcoming year's activities.
Educational Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Geography, Social Work, or a related field.
Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
Strong leadership and coordination skills.
Ability to communicate and prepare reports effectively in English and the local language.
2-5 years prior experience in environmental or community development projects will be preferred.
In-depth understanding of environmental laws, sustainable development, and climate change issues.
Physically fit and willing to travel to remote, difficult, and hilly areas.
Must possess a personal two-wheeler.
Must be willing to travel to any block of Nashik District
