This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join QNX and build their very own team in our newest location- Hyderabad!

Are you the person we are looking for?

We are looking for a technically strong, solid and creative engineering manager with a successful track record of leading a team of skilled, innovative and passionate engineers for creating groundbreaking software solutions for hardware peripherals including the adaptation of existing drivers for embedded platforms (driver development). You should know driver design, development and deployment inside and out.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership to a BSP development team, who will create software drivers to support next-gen hardware peripherals on some of the most advanced hardware platforms available. You must be someone with ideas and real passion for software delivered to enhance reuse, efficiency, and simplicity. Your work will affect millions of users and be critical to the success of QNX.

Leading this team means you will work in crafting breakthrough solutions, robust and scalable services using modern application development techniques, bringing agility and improving engineering practices. Using your extensive knowledge of embedded system and deep system knowledge, you will partner with product managers, architecture teams and customers to discover and deliver the solutions for the problems across multiple industries including our high-profile automotive Tier 1 accounts.

You will:

• Set and communicate team objectives, priorities, define workflows and processes based on the product vision and strategy in a fast-paced environment
• Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams to deliver high quality and timely products and/or programs meeting customer requirements
• Develop and forms the team (8-12 members): attract, recruit & retain capable talents
• Be accountable for the team\'s work and outcomes; influencing via controlling resources and planning
• Adapt team plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization\'s goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and to provide coaching
• Create a culture of high-speed, high-quality delivery by assembling a premier engineering team, leading it, and designing scalable, sustainable components
• Nurture and influence the team culture of being customer centric, learning and growing from mistakes.
• A zeal for solving customer problems, and the cascading the same passion across teams
• Drive innovation and continual development by empowering the team to enhance their tools, procedures, and culture to keep them agile and inventive
• Develop the technical vision and roadmap of your team. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area and review code developed by engineers
• Strong collaborative approach to work closely with peers in various teams like Product Management, Services, Operations, Quality, Customer teams and more to bring diverse viewpoints and goals together
• Interested in opportunities to develop software under specialised safety standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 etc.
• Responsible for Performance management, Career development and Training needs for team

You will have the following skills & experience:

• Bootloader and board bring up knowledge such as u-boot/DRAM controller initialization / system clock configuration / GPIO & pinmux)
• Driver development experience for peripherals such as UARTs, i2c, SPI, CAN, SD, SATA/AHCI, Flash (NAND/NOR) etc.
• Storage device driver development targeting block storage devices, SD/eMMC, AHCI/SATA or flash technology (NAND/NOR)
• Strong development experience to form a solid bridge between engineering members and management
• Proven experience in Unix internals and embedded development experience using C and assembling language
• Proficient in embedded operating systems (e.g. QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred)
• Experience targeting embedded systems on major processor architectures (ARM, x86, PPC, etc.)
• Experience with complex architectural designs and handling of complex business situations and enterprise level software products
• Very good exposure to DevOps concepts and tools, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• The ability to resolvehelp problem solve and identify solutions in complex systems
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience including as either a technical lead and/or people leader.
• Strategic and Critical thinker to come up with ideas, and has the courage and perseverance to realize it
• Experience in working with multi-cultural and multi-locations teams

Additional skills (nice to have but not essential):

• Ability to handle ambiguity and collaborate across multiple groups and teams
• Hands on experience in the development of software following either safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508 etc.) or MIL standards would be a standout skill
• Knowledge of software development processes, standards or guidelines (ASPICE, MISRA) as well as scripting and document generation tools (Python, Latex).
