- Prepare and cook authentic Biryani dishes
- Develop and follow traditional and modern recipes, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation
- Manage mise en place, including marinating, grinding spices, chopping, and influence kitchen staff in Indian cooking methods and safe food practices
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen
- Supervise kitchen staff and train them in handling Mughlai cuisine
- Monitor inventory of Indian spices and specialty ingredients
Requirements:
- Experience: 2-5 years as a Biryani or Mughlai Chef in a professional kitchen
- Culinary Skills: Deep understanding of Indian spices, herbs, and traditional cooking methods, particularly in Mughlai and regional Indian cuisine
- Soft Skills: Good communication skills, ability to work in a high-pressure environment, and team leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in tandoori items
- Creativity in modern Indian fusion dishes
- Knowledge of vegetarian and vegan Indian preparations
