Install, inspect, test, and maintain medical equipment such as:
ICU & OT equipment
Ventilators, monitors, defibrillators
Imaging equipment (X-ray, CT, USG - coordination level)
Laboratory and diagnostic equipment
Perform
preventive and breakdown maintenance
Ensure equipment uptime and optimal performance
Compliance & Safety
Maintain equipment records as per
NABH / NABL / statutory norms
Ensure compliance with
safety standards and regulatory guidelines
Conduct periodic
calibration and validation
Assist during internal and external audits
Vendor & AMC Management
Coordinate with vendors for
AMC, CMC, warranty claims
Evaluate service reports and spare part requirements
Support procurement with
technical evaluation
of new equipment
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain:
Equipment inventory
Service history logs
Calibration and breakdown reports
Prepare monthly biomedical performance reports
Training & Support
Train clinical and nursing staff on
safe equipment usage
Provide technical support during emergency situations
Assist doctors and OT staff during procedures if required
Hospital Operations Support
Participate in new department setup or expansion projects
Assist in commissioning of new medical equipment
Ensure minimal downtime affecting patient care
Qualifications
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
Certification in medical equipment handling is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Knowledge of hospital equipment & safety protocols
Familiarity with NABH standards
Good coordination and communication skills
Ability to handle emergency situations
