Definition
A BIM Engineer is required to work with clients during pre-construction to build a 3D model, 2d shop drawing and submittal drawing. They sustain and coordinate project deliveries task with an offshore production team. They also strive to become champions in the advancement of BIM.
This role will be disciplined:
You will need to groom the position based on the client’s discipline’s needs.

What are BIM roles and responsibilities?

• The BIM engineer brings input to the model.

• He (or she) has technical knowledge. This knowledge needs to be brought into the model.
• It's the responsibility of the engineer to make this happen.
• Engineer works in conjunction with the modeler.

What is a BIM process?

• Building information modeling (BIM) is a process supported by various tools, technologies, and contracts involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places.

What is the prime Client?

• This would be any Architectural and or MEP firm that needs support with projects to assist in Project Model content development. And or understaffed to meet the demands of the projects or their clients.
• A typical farm size would be anywhere from 5 to 100.

Shift Timings: 6:00 PM to 3:00AM
Location: Work from home (WFH) – Full time
Note: This is a remote position, a strong internet connection is required (Company subsidy available)
Qualifications Summary

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with expertise in Structure.
• 3+ years of experience designing and calculating structural systems.
• US construction knowledge is a must.
• Thorough knowledge of NEC and building codes.

• AutoCAD and REVIT structure proficient
• Ability to identify applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions
• Experience with industry-standard software including Microsoft products
• Basic knowledge of all disciplines regarding their general requirements for standard types of projects.
• Reviews project deliverables

• Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines through completion
• Monitors timely response for electrical RFIs and Shop Drawing reviews
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities Summary

• Use structural engineering knowledge to coordinate with Cost/Schedule Engineers for reporting of construction progress, cost and schedule status for civil engineering construction projects.
• Assist with identification, tracking and resolution of issues.
• Assist Project Engineer in maintenance of record and as built drawings and change tracking for civil engineering construction projects.
• Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc technical reports and resolution of claims for civil engineering construction projects.
• Identify design conflicts and coordinate with General Contractor through BIM modeling process.

• Extract project data/report from BIM as required. Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Must be able to independently read field notes and translate the information into AutoCAD and Revit.
• Create/modify production drawings utilizing architects’ and engineers' markups, verbal instructions, and sketches under minimum supervision
• Maintain project drawing files, records, and documentation in an orderly condition
• Create complex drawings in CAD and Revit

• Assist CAD manager with various other duties
• The BIM/CAD Engineer position is responsible for producing clear and technically accurate models and drawings based on design specifications and detailing based on material submittals.
• Assist CAD/BIM Manager - Preconstruction Services with and take a leadership role in department standards development and content creation
• Coordinate the design process/workflow including detailed modeling tasks, drafting tasks, project issues, and potential solutions
• Create buildable, efficient, code/standard-compliant detailed designs based on contract documents (according to standards, fits, and stack-ups) with guidance from the Architects, Engineers and Project Managers

• Attend project meetings and provide status updates on specific/requested design workflow
• Compare data between source documents (scanned images, drawings, sketches, scanned images, specifications) and final drawings to detect errors or missing information
• Organize, print, and file drawings, one-lines reports according to project protocols
• Coordinate and follow up with Project Managers regarding any changes or unmet needs
• Prioritize workflow according to project needs

• Create, modify, release CAD/BIM/REVIT drawings according to standards, fits, and stack-ups

Requirements Summary

• Graduate in Civil Engineering and equivalent. With expertise in Structure
• 2+ years' experience in Revit Structure and AutoCAD preferred

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Windows OS 10
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to new challenges
• Willingness to learn new software and techniques
• Ability to work in a dynamic teamwork environment
• Digital Layout – Provide model-based layout coordinates to field surveying teams onsite for layout of self-perform concrete, steel, utilities, and other systems.

• Reality Capture – Scan, Process, register, and publish laser scan point cloud data for coordination.
• 3D Modeling – Convert point cloud information to 3D Revit models for design and construction detailing, including creation of custom parametric Revit families.
• Coordination – Develop and maintain integrated project coordination models using Navisworks software and create clash detection reports based on analysis of multiple design disciplines and trade subcontractor 3D models.
• Collaboration – Participate in virtual collaboration meetings with project team, while leveraging the coordination model as a decision-making tool to solve complex coordination issues.
• Estimating – Extract quantity data from Revit building information models (BIM) for estimating teams, while cross-referencing contract drawings and specifications for model accuracy.

• Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with expertise in structure.
