- Oversee the entire billing process for inpatient, outpatient, pharmacy, laboratory, and other hospital services.
Revenue Cycle Management
- Ensure timely generation of bills, collection of payments, and proper posting of charges.
Team Management
- Guide and supervise billing staff, cashiers, and accounts assistants to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance Oversight
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, government regulations, and insurance company requirements.
Liaison Role
- Act as a link between hospital management, patients, insurance companies, and finance departments.
Responsibilities of Billing Incharge (Hospital)
Generate and verify patient bills with accuracy (consultation, admission, investigations, surgery, pharmacy, etc.).
Check and approve daily collection reports, cash, and credit transactions.
Monitor pending payments, outstanding dues, and initiate follow-up for recovery.
Ensure correct application of insurance policies, TPAs, and government health schemes.
Handle patient queries, disputes, or billing errors with transparency and professionalism.
Maintain records of all financial transactions, invoices, and receipts for auditing.
Train and support billing staff on updated billing procedures, software, and compliance guidelines.
Coordinate with departments (Pharmacy, OT, Radiology, Labs, Nursing, etc.) for accurate service entries.
Prepare periodic financial and billing MIS reports for management review.
Implement cost control measures and reduce billing errors or revenue leakage.
