Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive
Billing Head
to lead the overall billing operations at
Medpark Hospital, Mohali
. The role will be responsible for managing the entire revenue cycle across
OPD, IPD, Emergency, Diagnostics, TPA/Insurance, and Corporate Billing
ensuring accuracy, compliance, timely collections, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing hospital billing systems, team leadership, and patient-facing processes in a NABH-accredited environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the
entire billing team
across OPD, IPD, TPA/Insurance, and Cash Billing counters.
Ensure timely and accurate generation of bills across departments, maintaining compliance with
, and government schemes (CGHS/ESI/ECHS).
Oversee and ensure accuracy in
pre-authorisation, approvals, documentation, and discharge billing
in coordination with Medical, Nursing, and Admission teams.
Implement and monitor
standard billing protocols, SOPs, and internal controls
to avoid revenue leakage or errors.
Supervise the
submission and follow-up of insurance and TPA claims
, ensuring timely realization and minimal rejections.
Conduct periodic reconciliation of collections, credit notes, pending bills, and patient ledgers.
Address escalated queries/complaints from patients, relatives, TPA representatives, and corporate clients related to billing or settlements.
Train and mentor billing team members for skill development, process compliance, and effective customer service.
Liaise with
Auditors, Finance, and Regulatory Teams
during internal/external audits, ensuring complete documentation and compliance.
Ensure regular reporting of revenue, outstanding, and collections to hospital management.
Requirements:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, or Healthcare/Hospital Administration.
Minimum 5 years
of progressive experience in hospital billing, with at least
2 years in a team lead/supervisory role
.
Strong understanding of
hospital revenue cycle
, insurance billing, cashless systems, and discharge processes.
Working knowledge of
Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
, TPA , ECHS, CGHS portals, billing software, and Excel-based reporting.
Familiarity with
NABH standards, GST implications
, and billing audit practices.
Excellent coordination, team management, and communication skills (fluency in Hindi, English, Punjabi preferred).
Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays, based on hospital needs.
