The Billing Engineer is responsible for managing project cost estimates, preparing bills, and ensuring timely submission and verification of invoices for real estate projects. This role involves coordinating with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure accurate documentation and smooth financial operations related to construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
:
Billing and Invoicing
:
Prepare client bills, contractor bills, and work progress reports based on project execution.
Verify and certify contractor and vendor invoices.
Ensure timely submission of bills to clients and follow up for payment collection.
Quantity and Cost Estimation
:
Prepare quantity take-offs, material estimates, and cost analysis for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Maintain records of quantities used and reconcile them with BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
Measurement and Documentation
:
Conduct on-site measurements to verify work completion and prepare corresponding bills.
Document work progress through measurement sheets and maintain detailed records for audit purposes.
Coordination
:
Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure accurate billing.
Act as a liaison between the finance team and project teams for smooth processing of payments.
Budget Management and Monitoring
:
Track project budgets and ensure compliance with approved costs.
Highlight discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs to management for resolution.
Reporting
:
Generate and submit periodic reports on billing, project progress, and financial status to senior management.
Maintain up-to-date records of bills, invoices, and payment receipts.
Skills and Qualifications
:
Educational Background
:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Certification in cost estimation or billing is a plus.
Experience
:
3-5 years of experience in billing engineering, preferably in real estate or construction.
Technical Skills
:
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and billing software (such as SAP, Tally, or other ERP systems).
Knowledge of construction drawings, BOQ, and rate analysis.
Soft Skills
:
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
