Position

- Billing Engineer

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Experience

- 2-3 years of relevant experience in billing for firefighting or MEP projects.

Familiarity with IS standards and NBC codes related to fire safety is a plus.

Knowledge of measurement techniques for piping, pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, etc.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of Client Billing

Review BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and work orders to understand scope and rates.

Prepare RA (Running Account) bills and final bills as per executed work at site.

Verify physical progress and measurements in coordination with site engineers.

Submit bills to clients in prescribed formats and follow up for approvals and payments.

2. Subcontractor Billing

Collect and verify subcontractor work progress reports and measurements.

Prepare and certify subcontractor bills based on agreed terms and work completed.

Maintain records of payments and deductions like retention, advances, penalties, etc.

3. Site Coordination and Quantity Verification

Visit project sites regularly to verify completed quantities and check installation progress.

Communicate with the site execution team to ensure billing matches actual work.

4. Rate Analysis and Estimation Support

Assist the estimation team with rate analysis for new tenders.

Compare actual costs vs. estimates and provide input for future pricing.

5. Documentation and Records Management

Maintain proper documentation of all invoices, measurement sheets, and billing registers.

Ensure compliance with client formats, statutory requirements, and audit guidelines.

6. Client Coordination and Reporting

Coordinate with client billing departments for clarifications and payment status.

Prepare and present periodic billing status reports to management.
