Billing Engineer - Mechanical Construction

Job Summary:

The Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and submitting client bills and subcontractor bills for mechanical construction projects. The role involves quantity take-offs, measurement verification, BOQ reconciliation, and coordination with site, planning, and accounts teams to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Key Responsibilities:Billing & Measurement

Prepare

RA bills, final bills

, and variation bills for mechanical works (piping, fabrication, erection, equipment installation, tanks, structures, etc.). Take

joint measurements

with client/consultant and get approvals. Verify quantities as per

BOQ, drawings, and site execution

. Maintain Measurement Books (MB) and billing records.

BOQ & Contract Management

Study

contract documents, BOQs, drawings, and specifications

. Identify

extra items, deviations, and variations

and prepare supporting documents. Track

approved BOQ vs executed quantities

.

Subcontractor Billing

Check and certify

subcontractor/vendor bills

. Ensure bills are as per work executed, agreed rates, and contract terms. Coordinate with accounts for timely payment processing.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with

site engineers, planning, QA/QC, and accounts

teams. Prepare

billing status reports, cash flow statements, and billing forecasts

. Support audits and client queries related to billing.

Documentation & Compliance

Ensure billing compliance with

contract terms and payment milestones

. Maintain proper billing documentation for future claims and audits.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

mechanical construction billing

Proficiency in

MS Excel

(advanced formulas preferred) Ability to read

mechanical drawings and BOQs

Good understanding of

contract conditions & measurement methods

Attention to detail and strong coordination skills

Qualifications:

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in

Mechanical Engineering

2-8 years of experience in

mechanical construction billing

Industry Preference:

Mechanical Construction Oil & Gas Power Plant Piping & Fabrication Industrial Projects

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per year
