Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Billing Engineer
to manage billing activities for government infrastructure projects. The role involves preparation, verification, and submission of bills in strict compliance with tender documents, contract conditions, and applicable government norms. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in billing for tender-based and contract-based government projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, verify, and submit RA Bills, Final Bills, and Client Bills for government projects.
Study and analyze tender documents, BOQs, drawings, and contract agreements to ensure billing accuracy.
Measure, verify, and certify quantities as per approved drawings and site execution.
Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and the accounts team for timely billing inputs.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and government billing standards.
Maintain complete billing records, abstracts, and supporting documents for audits and approvals.
Handle variation orders, extra items, deviations, and reconciliation of quantities.
Assist in bill certification and approval processes with concerned government departments.
Track bill submission status, follow up for approvals, and support payment realization.
Ensure timely submission of all bills in line with project schedules and deadlines.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 3-6 years of experience as a Billing Engineer in government projects
Project Exposure:
Mandatory experience in tender-based and contract work
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of BOQs, RA billing, and final billing procedures
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and billing-related software (if applicable)
Sound understanding of government norms, specifications, and contract clauses
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good coordination and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Thorough knowledge of documentation and compliance requirements for government projects
