Job Description

introduction : Billing Engineer manages the financial documentation and invoicing for construction projects, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and running account (RA) bills, verifying site measurements and contractor claims, and tracking project expenses against the budget. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with project managers, contractors, and accounting departments to ensure timely and accurate billing. Key Responsibilities

Bill Preparation:

Draft and submit client invoices and contractor bills (RA Bills) based on measured work, materials, and labor.

Quantity Calculation:

Measure and document the quantities of materials and work completed on-site for billing purposes.

Cost Tracking & Budgeting:

Monitor project costs, track expenses, and ensure financial transactions align with the project budget.

Bill Verification:

Review and verify contractor invoices and subcontractor bills for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project standards.

Discrepancy Resolution:

Address and resolve any billing discrepancies, disputes, or variations between the client and contractor.

Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive records of all billing-related documents and project financial data.

Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, site engineers, and clients to gather necessary information and ensure smooth payment processes.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in preparing financial reports related to project billing to keep stakeholders informed of the financial status.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing software, with a solid understanding of construction processes and regulations.

Analytical:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and resolve discrepancies.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in measurements and financial documents.

Communication & Collaboration:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Education:

Typically a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Proven experience in billing and invoicing, particularly within the construction industry.
