Jewellery Cashier - Roles and Responsibilities

1. Billing & Cash Handling

Generate accurate bills for jewellery purchases, repairs, exchanges, and orders. Handle cash, card, UPI, and other payment methods securely. Maintain and balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift. Issue receipts, invoices, credit notes, and gift vouchers.

2. Customer Service

Greet customers politely and assist them with billing-related queries. Provide clear explanations of pricing, offers, and payment options. Handle customer complaints or billing discrepancies professionally.

3. Sales Support

Coordinate with sales executives to ensure smooth processing of sales. Verify item details such as weight, purity, pricing, and discounts before billing. Support in processing special orders, advance payments, and booking orders.

4. Documentation & Records

Maintain accurate daily sales reports and transaction records. Ensure proper documentation of returns, exchanges, and refunds. Keep customer data updated in the system following company policies.

5. Security & Compliance

Follow all company policies related to cash handling and fraud prevention. Ensure all transactions comply with legal requirements (PAN, KYC for high-value purchases). Monitor and report any suspicious activities or errors immediately.

6. System & Software Usage

Operate POS and jewellery billing systems efficiently. Update prices, gold rates, and stock information as instructed. Troubleshoot basic system issues and coordinate with IT when needed.

7. Store Operations Support

Assist with opening and closing procedures of the cash counter. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier desk. Support management during peak hours, festivals, and promotional events.
