The Billing Assistant - Canteen is responsible for handling day-to-day billing and cash collection activities in the hospital canteen. The role ensures accurate billing, smooth customer transactions, and proper record maintenance, contributing to efficient canteen operations within a 30-bedded hospital setup.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Billing & Cash Handling
Generate and issue bills promptly using the billing or POS system.
Handle cash, card, and online payments accurately.
Prepare and submit daily sales and cash summaries to the Accounts Department.
Reconcile daily transactions and report discrepancies immediately.
2. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain records of daily sales, credit slips, and outstanding dues.
Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports.
Support periodic internal audits and stock verifications.
3. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with canteen staff to ensure accurate and timely service.
Communicate billing or payment issues to the Canteen Manager or Accounts Officer.
Maintain polite and professional interactions with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
4. Inventory & Stock Support
Assist in verifying stock received and consumed daily.
Report any stock shortages or discrepancies to the Canteen Manager.
5. Compliance & Hygiene
Follow hospital billing and financial protocols.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the billing and counter area.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and hospital-related data.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
B.Com / Commerce graduate (Freshers are welcome).
Experience:
Prior experience in billing or cashiering preferred, but not mandatory.
Gender:
Male candidates preferred.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of billing systems / POS software
Familiarity with MS Excel and record keeping
Accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills
