Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Key Responsibilities:Design and develop fixtures, small hand tools, and composite tooling to support prototyping within the design-engineering department. Develop 3D models, review 2D drawings, and define tooling specifications ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and GD&T compliance. Manage tooling development end-to-end including sourcing, vendor coordination, cost control, and on-time delivery. Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and provide DFA/DFM inputs early in design planning. Support first article inspection, prototyping, PPAP events, DFMEA/PFMEA, and other risk management activities. Define assembly processes considering Quality, Safety, Delivery, and Ergonomics, and associate part/tool/quality attributes with process definitions. Lead tooling standardization, cost optimization, and continuous improvement by benchmarking previous product lines. Handle project responsibilities including reporting, stakeholder communication, and technical/commercial coordination with suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience:Strong experience in tooling engineering, composite tooling design, general assembly processes, and manufacturing engineering (automotive preferred). Proficiency in 3D modeling and assembly planning with strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and fabrication techniques. Hands-on knowledge of DELMIA V5, Process Simulate, Vismockup, Teamcenter Visualization, Human Jack, or equivalent digital validation tools. Experience in problem resolution, assembly process definition, digital validation, and vendor management. Strong IT skills: MS Office, presentation skills; coding knowledge is desirable. Soft skills: Technical comprehension, teamwork, communication, structured thinking, self-initiative, customer orientation, ability to give/receive feedback, and openness to addressing critical issues. Experience mix: Project Management (10%), Tool Design/Approval/RFQ Preparation/Technical Communication (40%), Commercial & Supplier Technical Communication (40%), Reporting (10%).
Qualifikationen
Educational Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field. Additional certifications (if any): Desirable but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):Experience in composite bonding, fastening techniques, assembly digital validation, or international automotive projects. Exposure to Daimler systems, global supplier interaction, or German language proficiency (business fluent).
