Role Overview

Join us on?site in Bangalore as an experienced Behavioral Health Coder. You'll process real patient encounters (tele?mental?health, outpatient therapy, psychiatry), train our AI tools, and ensure claims are coded and submitted accurately to U.S. payers while collaborating with product and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Code behavioral health services using CPT/HCPCS (e.g., 90791, 90832?90838, 90846/90847, 96130) and assign correct ICD?10?CM diagnosis codes Review clinical notes (SOAP, progress, psychiatric evaluations) and validate documentation supports billed services Audit claims for coding accuracy, modifier use, and payer compliance (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) Collaborate with the AI team to label data and refine automation models Stay current with U.S. behavioral health billing guidelines, telehealth rules, and payer?specific edits
Requirements

3+ years of hands?on behavioral/mental?health coding experience Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD?10?CM F?code diagnoses Familiarity with U.S. behavioral health billing workflows (telehealth, incident?to, same?day rule) Experience using mental?health EHR/billing platforms (TherapyNotes, SimplePractice, or similar) Based in Bangalore and available for in?office work (no remote/freelance)
Bonus Points

Experience training junior coders or conducting internal audits Exposure to U.S. RCM/BPO environments Certification such as CPC, COC, or AAPC Specialty Credential in Behavioral Health
