The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales and market growth in the building materials segment. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, dealers), and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new business opportunities in the assigned territory/segment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients including architects, interior designers, project management consultants, contractors, builders, and channel partners.
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales goals and expand market share.
Handle negotiations and close deals with new and existing clients.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and product launches.
Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, forecasts, and KPIs.
Stay updated on product knowledge, industry developments, and customer requirements.
Ensure post-sales support and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
Proven track record in business development, sales, or key account management within the building materials industry (tiles, cement, adhesives, paints, plywood, glass, etc.).
Strong network and understanding of construction industry stakeholders.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel extensively as required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Soho).
Understanding of tendering processes and project sales cycles.
Technical knowledge of building products and applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
