Job Description

To prepare, check, and manage accurate bar bending schedules (BBS) as per structural drawings and site requirements, ensuring proper reinforcement planning, minimal wastage, and cost-effective execution of works.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BBS Preparation & Verification

Prepare detailed Bar Bending Schedules from structural drawings (RCC, footing, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, etc.). Cross-check the BBS prepared by contractors or vendors for accuracy. Ensure bar cutting lists are in line with approved drawings and site measurements.

2. Coordination with Site & Structural Teams

Coordinate with structural engineers, site execution teams, and formwork teams for reinforcement placement and sequencing. Resolve discrepancies between drawings and site conditions through RFIs or technical discussions. Assist the planning and procurement teams for rebar requirement forecasting.

3. Material Management & Optimization

Monitor rebar consumption and reconcile against BBS to minimize wastage. Verify bar bending, cutting, and placement at site as per the approved schedule. Maintain records for reinforcement steel received, consumed, and balanced.

4. Quality & Compliance

Ensure rebar placement meets IS codes, structural drawings, and quality standards. Support QA/QC teams during inspections and audits. Maintain updated versions of all structural drawings and revisions.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress and consumption reports. Maintain BBS registers and digital records for each structural element. Support in quantity reconciliation and billing verification.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of RCC detailing and reinforcement drawings. Expertise in BBS preparation using AutoCAD and Excel. Understanding of IS codes related to rebar and concrete works. Accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills. Good coordination and communication with site teams.

Qualification & Experience:

Qualification:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Experience:

3-7 years of experience in BBS preparation and structural execution in real estate, contracting, or infrastructure projects. Experience with

high-rise residential projects

or

Mivan/Aluform structures

preferred.
