Overview

Come join us in the Engineering Process, Hydrogen and Storage Design Unit team to support us in enabling the energy transition towards a zero-carbon power sector through the storage integration in our generation fleet. We are looking for a Storage Specialist. The candidate will be responsible of managing, preparing, and updating the Storage Design technical specifications, defining the projects design, assessing component performances, performing the selection of main storage equipment during tender phase for each specific project, interacting with suppliers, supporting the engineering team in relevant technical alignment and in the activities during construction and commissioning.

What you will do:

• Receiving and analyzing the business model of projects, developing functional requirements, conceptual design and sizing also providing a preliminary CAPEX estimation.
• Collaborating with the Project Engineer (PE) and with other specialists in the preparation of the project Technical Specifications package (including layout, SLD, etc.) for Request for Offer to suppliers, analyzing relevant technical proposals
• Elaborating project configuration and performance assessment calculating the main project data (Available Power, Energy, Efficiency, lifetime)
• Supporting project teams during the project execution, assessing all changes occurred during the process and validating performance test results at component and system level
• Defining operating procedures, algorithms and/or guidelines for the plant design and performances calculation, also collecting feedbacks from the operation of Storage Power Plants
• Organizing recurrent meetings and workshops with main suppliers of storage equipment to be always up to date on products features, performances, and all technical aspects
• Managing the technical assessment of suppliers to be included or renewed in the Company's vendor list related to storage equipment supporting the scouting activities for new storage products
• Supporting the engineering team and other units in all the technical aspects related to main storage equipment and leading the validation and the review of main storage equipment selection assuring the selection of the best main storage equipment according to schedule and location of the project
• Managing, preparing, and updating on a regular basis the technical specifications and design guidelines to be used for any Request For Offer and to lead the Offline Technical Alignment of main storage equipment, in collaboration with other engineering units
• Supporting project teams for assessing all the main equipment changes occurred during the project life cycle (by tracking all the changes, by assessing the impacts on the project objectives and by controlling the implementation)
• Collaborating with the Operation and Maintenance department collecting feedbacks from the operation of Storage Power Plants
• Implementing lessons learnt from previous projects, sharing best practices and knowledge with the other units of the Organization and inside the Design Unit
• Coaching and providing induction and training to new hires in the Storage Design Unit.

Who You Are:

• Proved Experience in Energy Storage and/or Lithium-ion technology is considered a plus
• Ability to work within a Global Framework in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage relations with suppliers
• Ability to analyze and synthesize complex business aspects
• Ability to work in autonomy for complex tasks and in multiple projects under pressure

What we search in you:

• 3-5 years' experience in energy sector (renewable is preferred) in a technical role
• Experience in IPPs, Consulting Company or Battery Storage suppliers in a technical role
