As a Barista at IRA CAFE, you are the face of our morning-to-night hospitality experience. You will go beyond just making coffee; you will craft artisanal beverages and provide a "peaceful" service experience that aligns with the premium standards of Akoya Hotels. Your goal is to ensure every guest enjoys a perfect cup in a serene, professionally managed environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Beverage Artistry & Preparation
Prepare and serve a wide range of specialty coffees (Espresso, Aeropress, Pour-overs) and teas following IRA CAFE's signature recipes.
Master latte art to enhance the visual appeal of every beverage served.
Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation for every order.
Develop and suggest seasonal beverage specials to keep the menu vibrant.
2. Guest Experience & Hospitality
Greet guests with the warmth and professionalism expected in a luxury boutique hotel setting.
Educate guests on our coffee blends, flavor profiles, and South Indian specialty food pairings.
Handle dietary preferences and customizations (milk alternatives, sugar levels) with precision.
Maintain a calm and welcoming "zen" atmosphere, even during peak rooftop hours.
3. Operational Excellence
Operate and maintain high-end brewing equipment (grinders, espresso machines) and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Manage the POS system, process payments accurately, and handle cash/digital transactions.
Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, dairy, and syrups; assist in restocking to prevent service delays.
4. Hygiene & Standards
Maintain a spotless workstation and seating area in compliance with FSSAI and hotel safety standards.
Ensure all food handling and sanitation protocols are strictly followed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Barista, preferably in a premium cafe or a 3/4-star hotel environment.
Technical Skill:
Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing methods.
Hospitality:
Excellent communication skills with a "guest-first" mindset.
Education:
High school diploma; a certification in Barista Skills or Hospitality is a significant plus.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work in shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
