Job Description

Beverage Preparation:

Making a variety of coffee and tea drinks, including espresso-based beverages, following recipes and customer requests.

Customer Service:

Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing recommendations or explanations about menu items.

Cash Handling:

Processing payments accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.

Workspace Maintenance:

Cleaning and sanitizing the bar area, equipment, and seating areas, as well as restocking supplies.

Food Preparation:

In some cafes, baristas may also prepare or assemble food items like sandwiches, pastries, or desserts.

Inventory Management:

Monitoring stock levels, placing orders for ingredients and supplies, and potentially managing inventory rotation.

Teamwork:

Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient service, especially during busy periods.
Skills & Qualities:

Customer Service Skills:

Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport with customers.

Coffee Knowledge:

Understanding of different coffee beans, brewing methods, and drink preparation.

Speed & Efficiency:

Ability to prepare drinks quickly and accurately, even during peak hours.

Cleanliness & Organization:

Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.

Communication Skills:

Effectively communicating with customers and team members.

Problem-Solving:

Addressing customer requests or issues, and potentially troubleshooting equipment problems.
