Job Description

A barista job involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, taking orders, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, while also keeping the workspace clean, stocked, and adhering to hygiene standards. Key duties include operating espresso machines, crafting drinks to specific recipes, maintaining equipment, engaging with customers, and managing transactions. Core Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation:

Brewing coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty items; following recipes and presentation standards.

Customer Service:

Greeting customers, taking orders accurately, answering questions, offering recommendations, and processing payments (cash/card).

Workstation Maintenance:

Keeping the bar, equipment (grinders, espresso machines), and seating areas clean, sanitized, and organized.

Inventory & Stocking:

Restocking supplies like beans, milk, cups, and pastries; monitoring inventory levels.

Team Collaboration:

Working with other staff, contributing to a positive atmosphere, and potentially training new hires.
Essential Skills & Qualities

Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy setting. Attention to detail, especially for drink orders and hygiene. Passion for coffee and food service.
Typical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (often preferred). Experience in food service or customer service (helpful, but not always mandatory). Knowledge of food safety and hygiene guidelines.
