Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Barcoding Operator to join our diagnostics laboratory team. The Barcoding Operator will be responsible for labeling and organizing biological samples with accurate barcodes to ensure seamless tracking, identification, and processing throughout the laboratory workflow. This role plays a critical part in maintaining sample integrity, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate and apply barcode labels to incoming specimen containers (tubes, vials, etc.) according to established protocols. Verify patient/sample information for accuracy before labeling. Maintain accurate records and logs of all barcoded specimens. Ensure proper sample handling to avoid contamination, degradation, or mislabeling. Collaborate with sample accessioning, processing, and testing teams to ensure timely sample flow. Report any discrepancies, errors, or damaged samples to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Proficient in using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnostic test names is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
