Job Description

The Bar Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by serving drinks and light snacks in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. They ensure that guests have a pleasant and enjoyable experience at the bar or lounge area by taking orders, delivering beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and order.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner. Take beverage and snack orders accurately and efficiently. Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as per standard recipes. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and tables. Ensure all beverages are served according to health and safety regulations. Provide recommendations and up-sell drinks and promotions when appropriate. Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and promptly. Assist in stock inventory and replenishment when necessary. Process payments accurately using POS systems. Cooperate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Follow all bar opening and closing procedures.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a bar, lounge, or restaurant is preferred. Good knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and drink service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Neat appearance and good personal hygiene. Basic math skills for handling cash and card transactions. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (as per local laws). Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift trays with drinks or food (up to 25 lbs). Manual dexterity to operate bar and POS equipment.
