Role Overview
The Banking & Payments Executive will handle all banking operations and payment-processing activities. This role involves managing fund transfers, reconciling accounts, coordinating with banks, and ensuring payment flows are smooth, timely, and compliant. The person will also support financial operations, risk control, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing
Execute different types of payments (vendor payments, payroll, vendor invoices, bank transfers).
Process remittances, ACH / RTGS / NEFT transactions or other relevant payment modes as per business requirement.
Liaise with banks and payment service providers for payment settlement and issues.
Bank Relationship Management
Maintain good working relationships with multiple banks to manage daily banking activities.
Coordinate with banking partners for account opening, KYC, and other banking processes.
Ensure bank statements are received, checked, and reconciled.
Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
Track daily cash balances and recommend internal fund movements to ensure liquidity.
Prepare short-term forecasts of cash flow to maintain adequacy of funds.
Plan and optimize fund usage to minimize idle cash.
Reconciliations & Reporting
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Reconcile payment-related data with internal ledgers.
Prepare financial / operational reports related to payments and bank flow.
Risk & Control
Follow internal controls and regulatory compliance in all payment and banking operations.
Identify and escalate any payment exceptions or discrepancies.
Implement and monitor controls to reduce operational risk.
Process Improvement
Suggest and implement ideas for automating payment processes or improving efficiency.
Participate in projects to upgrade payment infrastructure or streamline workflows.
Work with IT or finance teams for system upgrades / integration, if needed.
Client / Internal Stakeholder Support
Respond to queries from internal teams (finance, operations) regarding payment status, bank statements, and reconciliations.
Support during audits or transaction reviews by providing required documentation.
Coordinate with treasury or finance to manage fund disbursements.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
:
Freshers can apply, Experience in banking operations, payment operations, or financial operations also preferred.
Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, transaction processing, and liquidity management.
Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in MS Excel and other office tools.
Familiarity with banking software / ERP / payment systems.
Knowledge
:
Understanding of banking regulations, AML / KYC compliance.
Awareness of settlement systems (like RTGS or other local payment mechanisms).
Soft Skills
:
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with banks and internal teams.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to suggest process improvements.
Salary
18,000 to 20,000 per month
