Job Description

A bank sales officer with 2-3 years of experience is a customer-facing role responsible for acquiring new customers, selling banking products like accounts and loans, and cross-selling insurance and investment products. Key duties include achieving sales targets through field sales and customer outreach, building customer relationships, complying with KYC norms, and leveraging CRM systems to track interactions. A strong understanding of financial markets, excellent communication, and a proven track record in sales are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Acquisition:

Focuses on acquiring new customers for various banking products such as savings accounts, current accounts, term deposits, debit/credit cards, and corporate salary accounts.

Sales Target Achievement:

Responsible for meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets set by the bank.

Relationship Management:

Develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and drive retention.

Product Sales & Cross-selling:

Sells banking products directly and identifies cross-selling opportunities for third-party products like life and general insurance or mutual funds.

Field Sales:

Conducts extensive field sales activities, including customer mapping and direct customer outreach in the assigned market or catchment area.

KYC and Compliance:

Ensures adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms and other compliance guidelines during the acquisition and servicing of customers.

CRM Usage:

Uses the bank's customer relationship management (CRM) system to record customer interactions and manage sales activities.
Skills and Qualifications

Sales Experience:

2-3 years of proven experience in sales, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse customer segments.

Market Knowledge:

A good understanding of banking products, services, local market conditions, and financial markets.

Negotiation Skills:

Strong negotiation abilities to effectively communicate product benefits and close sales.

Computer Proficiency:

Ability to work with digital platforms and proficiency in basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Independence:

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced sales environment.

Educational Background:

A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is typically required.
