Production Supervisor Manufacturing

Production Manager / Unit Head

Qualification: BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)

Job Purpose:

To oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Ayurvedic production unit, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency in the manufacturing process of classical and proprietary Ayurvedic medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise day-to-day production activities in accordance with

GMP

and

AYUSH

guidelines. Ensure adherence to approved formulations, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and process validation. Coordinate with R&D, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance departments for smooth production flow. Monitor raw material availability, manpower allocation, and machine utilization for timely completion of production targets. Maintain accurate documentation related to production, process sheets, and in-process quality checks. Assist in

process optimization

, reduction of wastage, and enhancement of product yield. Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within the production area. Support in training production staff on SOPs and GMP compliance. Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and process improvements. Collaborate with store and dispatch teams for inventory and finished goods coordination.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

Ayurvedic formulations, ingredients, and manufacturing processes

. Good understanding of

GMP, GLP, and AYUSH licensing norms

. Excellent leadership, communication, and team-handling skills. Proficiency in documentation and ERP systems. Ability to troubleshoot production issues and suggest practical solutions.

Work Experience:

Minimum

2 years of experience

in Ayurvedic pharmaceutical production (experience in churnas, asavas, arishtas, ghritas, tablets, or oils preferred). Exposure to

automation and modern production technologies

will be an added advantage. Preferably with

2-5 years of experience

in Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing, formulation, or production supervision.
