A Bakery Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts. They ensure high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene in all bakery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Baking & Preparation
Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and frostings according to recipes.
Bake breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and other baked items.
Ensure proper texture, flavor, and consistency of all products.
2. Recipe Development
Create new and innovative bakery products.
Modify recipes to meet customer preferences or dietary requirements.
3. Decorating & Presentation
Decorate cakes and pastries with icing, glazes, and toppings.
Maintain high standards of product presentation and aesthetics.
4. Quality & Hygiene
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (FSSAI or equivalent).
Ensure freshness and proper storage of ingredients and finished goods.
5. Inventory & Cost Control
Manage ingredient inventory and place orders as needed.
Minimize wastage and control food costs.
6. Teamwork & Supervision
Supervise junior bakers or assistants.
Train staff on baking techniques and hygiene practices.
7. Customer Service
Handle special orders and customized cakes or desserts.
Coordinate with front-of-house or cafe teams for product display and sales.
