Bakery Chef, also known as a Pastry Chef or Baker, is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of baked goods. These may include bread, cakes, pastries, cookies, pies, and other dessert items.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Baking and Preparation:
Prepare and bake various items such as bread, cakes, muffins, cookies, and pastries.
Follow and adapt recipes according to customer preferences or seasonal ingredients.
2. Menu Planning:
Create new and innovative baked items for the menu.
Plan and update seasonal or festive bakery items.
3. Quality Control:
Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
Ensure all products meet hygiene and quality standards.
4. Inventory and Stock Management:
Order and manage baking supplies like flour, eggs, sugar, and chocolate.
Monitor inventory and reduce wastage.
5. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety:
Ensure cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
6. Team Coordination (if senior role):
Supervise and train junior bakers or assistants.
Assign tasks and manage workflow during busy hours.
