The Bakery Chef de Partie (CDP) is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality bakery and pastry items. The role involves assisting in recipe execution, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, managing mise en place, and supporting the Head Baker in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods according to recipes and production standards.
Ensure consistent product quality, taste, and presentation.
Manage daily mise en place and maintain inventory of ingredients.
Assist in developing and testing new recipes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Monitor baking equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
Supervise and train Commis and other junior staff when required.
Assist in portion control and minimizing food wastage.
Coordinate with the Head Baker to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or certification in Bakery, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen.
Strong knowledge of doughs, breads, laminated pastries, and desserts.
Good understanding of baking techniques and ingredient functions.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and a passion for baking.
Strong team player with good communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
Manual dexterity for precise pastry and bread preparation.
Work Schedule:
Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on business needs.
