The Commis 1 Chef (Bakery) will assist in the preparation and production of high-quality baked goods, viennoiserie, and pastries for our hotel cafe. This role requires a skilled baker with expertise in decorating and presenting baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and bake a variety of breads, viennoiserie, and pastries according to recipes and presentation standards.
2. Decorate and finish baked goods, to exacting presentation standards.
3. Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items.
4. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
5. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service and high-quality products.
Requirements:
1. Culinary degree or certification in baking and pastry arts.
2. Proven experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or cafe setting.
3. Expertise in baking, decorating, and presenting viennoiserie and pastries.
4. Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, baking techniques, and presentation standards.
5. Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
