Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Cleanliness and hygiene:
Maintain a clean and organized work station and kitchen, adhering strictly to health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Inventory management:
Assist in monitoring inventory levels, checking stock rotation (FIFO - First-In, First-Out), accepting deliveries, and ordering supplies as needed.
Kitchen operations:
Help with daily and weekly procedures, such as temperature checks, food labeling, and cleaning schedules.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery and support the overall kitchen brigade.
Equipment maintenance:
Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and in good working order.
Required skills and qualifications
Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen is helpful but not always required, especially for entry-level roles.
Strong knowledge of basic baking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment (mixers, ovens, etc.).
