Chihiro is a new cafe and bakehouse in Lucknow that blends the calm of a neighbourhood coffee space with the craft of a modern kitchen. Our menu is built around honest food: sandwiches, brunch plates, and bakes made from scratch, rooted in comfort but layered with creativity.
Led by our Head Pastry Chef & Owner, who trained in a Michelin-star kitchen and worked across large-scale bakeries in Canada and India, Chihiro is designed to be a space where good food and good energy go hand in hand. The kitchen runs on collaboration, curiosity, and craft; every team member contributes ideas, experiments, and takes pride in the details.
Position Overview
We're hiring a skilled
Baker / Pastry CDP
to lead and execute daily production of our bakery program. The role involves working across doughs, cakes, tarts, laminations, and nostalgia-driven bakes: all with a rustic, vintage, from-scratch approach. You'll manage prep schedules, consistency, quality, and hygiene, while supporting R&D for new menu items.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who values technique, precision, flavour development, and calm, well-planned production.
Key Responsibilities
Execute daily bakery production: doughs, batters, cakes, cookies, tarts, and specials.
Maintain consistent textures, flavours, baking times, and finishing quality.
Plan production schedules, manage oven timelines, and coordinate with the hot kitchen for smooth service.
Follow and refine recipes in collaboration with the Head Chef; contribute ideas for new bakes.
Uphold FSSAI-standard hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and equipment care.
Manage bakery inventory.
Train and guide junior pastry staff or commis on basic techniques and workflows.
Work with precision while keeping the rustic, handcrafted character of Chihiro's identity.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory education from a recognised pastry school
(diploma/certificate in bakery & confectionery).
1-2+ years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen, cafe, or bakery.
Strong understanding of doughs, cakes, custards, tarts, sponges, and foundational techniques.
Ability to execute recipes consistently and troubleshoot textures, proofing, moisture, and bake levels.
Knowledge of oven management, food safety, and storage best practices.
Creative mindset with attention to detail and plating/finishing aesthetics.
Calm, methodical, and able to maintain quality while working efficiently.
Strong teamwork attitude -- open to cross-training and supporting multiple sections.
