Skill set

• Previous working experience as a Backup Administrato r for 3 to 5 years
• Good working knowledge of Veeam backup and replication, Data Protector and other tools such as VMware SRM, Zerto is a plus
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux and Virtualization technologies
• Knowledge on public cloud and cloud based backups
• Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MS-SQL etc.,
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction
• Willing to work in shifts based on client/project requirements

Key Responsibility
Responsible for managing the customer's backup infrastructure (Physical Servers/VMs with RHEL/Windows workloads) using various backup tools like Veeam Backup and Replication and Data protector
Performing the daily health check for all backup tools, tape libraries and all other backup infra components
Complete tape management in the backup environment including tape offsetting and recalling them from third party vendors including Offsite backups as required
Coordinate with Vendor for software and Hardware patches/updates/break fix. etc.
Investigating and Troubleshooting Failed Backups
Troubleshoot backup issues, generate logs and following escalation procedures as required
Good knowledge on DR and restoring backups based on requirement. Configuring Events, Notifications
Generating different kinds of backup reports and sending them to customer
Help in preparing implementation processes and procedures are developed, implemented and followed for various activities with respect to Backup & restoration
Work with the business and development teams to plan, manage and implement various changes in the pre-production Environment
Follow change management process as per customer requirements
Work with multiple teams to analyze and develop detailed plans for the migration of services to alternative hosting locations such as public cloud (AWS/Azure)
Help in identifying improvements in Operations/migration processes and implement automation to reduce time and resources required to complete the tasks
