Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backup Engineer to lead backup and storage operations for enterprise environments. This role involves designing and implementing backup strategies, performing advanced troubleshooting, and mentoring junior team members. Expertise in Commvault and NetApp technologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement enterprise backup and recovery strategies using Commvault and NetApp.
Lead backup infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
Perform root cause analysis for critical backup failures and drive permanent fixes.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
Develop automation scripts and tools to optimize backup processes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
5-8 years of experience in enterprise backup administration.
Expert-level knowledge of Commvault architecture (CommServe, MediaAgent, deduplication, NDMP).
Advanced experience with NetApp ONTAP, MetroCluster, SnapMirror, and storage best practices.
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Ansible).
Experience in disaster recovery planning and compliance with security standards.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Commvault Master Certification or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer preferred.
Experience managing large-scale backup environments and hybrid cloud solutions.
