About the Role

We are looking for a skilled

Backend Engineer (Java)

to join our growing engineering team in Mumbai. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services that power a large-scale platform used by millions of users. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with product, DevOps, and architecture teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using

Java

Build and consume

RESTful APIs

and work within a

microservices architecture

Develop and deploy services using

containerized environments

Work with

relational and NoSQL databases

(SQL Server, Cosmos DB) Ensure high performance, reliability, and availability of backend systems Debug and troubleshoot issues in

distributed systems

Participate in

CI/CD pipelines

, code reviews, and version control processes Apply strong

Data Structures and Algorithms

knowledge to solve medium-complexity problems Implement and monitor logging, metrics, and observability for production systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture and technical decisions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong programming expertise in

Java

Solid understanding of

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

and design patterns Hands-on experience with

REST APIs

microservices

, and containerization Experience with

SQL and NoSQL databases

Familiarity with

CI/CD tools

, Git-based version control, and debugging techniques Strong grasp of

Data Structures and Algorithms

Exposure to

performance monitoring, logging, and observability tools

Experience with

cloud platforms

(Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)

Good to Have

Experience in

financial services, mutual fund products, or startup environments

Proven experience building

highly scalable applications

Contributions to

open-source projects

or personal projects (GitHub profile is a plus) Knowledge of

in web and mobile applications
