Backend Engineering Lead
Location: Kochi / Bangalore (initially in Kochi)
Role Summary:
We are looking for a Backend Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices to
architect, build, and scale enterprise-grade backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience
in containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), API development, and system performance tuning in cloud-native
environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of scalable backend systems using Spring Boot and Java
Design and implement RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture
Ensure robust API security, authentication, rate-limiting, and versioning
Implement containerized services using Docker, deploy and orchestrate with Kubernetes
Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure CI/CD, monitoring, and high availability
Optimize backend performance, latency, and reliability
Guide and mentor backend engineers; enforce code quality and design standards
Work closely with frontend, product, and QA teams for full lifecycle delivery
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of experience in backend development
Expert in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
Familiarity in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
Experience with any one Orchestration / workflow / ESB tools (TIBCO BW, Camunda will be preferred)
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
Familiar with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Solid understanding of asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus
Strong problem-solving, design thinking, and leadership skills
Good Understanding of Code Quality and Standards.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to API gateways, rate-limiting, and OpenAPI/Swagger
Experience with caching strategies (Redis, Hazelcast)
Knowledge of observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
