Role Overview

We are looking for someone who knows Python and Django Rest Framework well and can help us build backend systems that are solid and ready to scale. You will be part of the team that designs and

maintains the APIs and services that keep the app running smoothly. The work involves writing clean code, thinking through how things connect, and making sure everything works well behind the scenes. You will be working closely with the frontend, product and design teams to keep things clear, fast and user friendly.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Django Rest Framework (DRF).

Translate product requirements into functional, well-structured backend services.

Integrate 3rd-party APIs and services including payment gateways, notification tools, analytics, and media platforms.

Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications using AWS services - EC2, RDS, and S3.

Manage version control and collaboration via Git and GitHub workflows.

Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to ensure API efficiency and alignment.

Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following modern backend standards.

Implement JWT authentication, caching systems like Redis, and asynchronous tasks where needed.

Contribute to CI/CD practices and help maintain Poetry-based Python environments.

Optionally assist in managing Firebase services like authentication and FCM integration.

Required Skills and Experience

Advanced knowledge of Python programming with a strong grasp of object-oriented and functional patterns.

Advanced proficiency with Django Rest Framework (DRF) and Django ORM.

Intermediate experience with AWS services:

EC2 (for deployments and scaling)

RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL management)

S3 (for media storage and handling)

Solid understanding of Git, GitHub, and API testing tools like Postman.

Familiarity with Redis caching, JWT tokens, Poetry dependency manager, and Firebase services (auth, notifications).

Experience with integrating external APIs/services (e.g., payment, SMS, email, third-party data sources).

Good debugging, performance tuning, and profiling skills.

Clear understanding of REST architecture and security best practices.

Bonus Points For

Prior experience working on large-scale platforms, especially social media or entertainment related products.

Exposure to microservices, Docker, or DevOps tools is a plus.

Passion for fan culture, media tech, or content platforms.
