Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. As a core member of our backend group, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic and database architecture for our diverse suite of products.

The ideal candidate is a language-agnostic problem solver who is equally comfortable writing high-performance microservices in Node.js, building robust applications in PHP, and developing data-intensive scripts or services in Python. You will play a critical role in integrating internal systems with third-party APIs and ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities

Design and Development: Architect and implement scalable, low-latency, and high-availability backend services using PHP (Laravel/Symfony), Node.js (Express/NestJS), and Python (Django/FastAPI). API Integration: Lead the integration of various third-party services (payment gateways, CRM systems, social media APIs, etc.) and develop internal RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas (SQL and NoSQL) and write complex, performant queries. Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the backend and implement caching strategies and code optimizations to improve response times. Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and collaborate with DevOps for seamless deployment. Security: Implement security and data protection measures, including OAuth, JWT, and encryption, to safeguard user data.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Multilingual Proficiency: Advanced experience with PHP, Node.js, and Python. You should understand the strengths and trade-offs of each language. API Mastery: Extensive experience in building and consuming complex APIs. Deep understanding of REST, JSON, and WebSockets. Database Expertise: Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Framework Knowledge: Hands-on experience with modern frameworks like Laravel, Express.js, and FastAPI/Django. Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices architecture, serverless functions, and event-driven patterns. Version Control: Expert knowledge of Git and collaborative workflows (Pull Requests, Code Reviews). Problem Solving: A proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and a "get things done" attitude.
Bonus Points

Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka. Knowledge of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) or building AI-integrated backend tools.
