Backend Engineer (NestJS / Node.js)

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using

NestJS

and

Node.js

.


Implement clean, testable

REST APIs

and

microservices

to support frontend, mobile, and third-party integrations.


Integrate with

MongoDB

and

MySQL

databases effectively.


Architect and build

event-driven systems

using

Apache Kafka

(or similar message brokers).


Write reusable, modular, and performant code using

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

principles.


Implement

role-based access control

, authentication (JWT, OAuth), and user management.


Deploy and manage

serverless functions

using

AWS Lambda

and other AWS services.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams: frontend, product, QA, and DevOps to deliver features end-to-end.


Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement processes.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in

Node.js

with

NestJS

framework.


Experience with both

MongoDB

and

MySQL

(data modeling, query optimization).


Solid understanding of

microservices architecture

and

API versioning

.


Practical experience with

Kafka

or other event-streaming platforms.


Working knowledge of

AWS Lambda

,

API Gateway

, and other

AWS services

.


Deep understanding of

OOP

, design patterns, and

MVC/MVVM

architectures.


Experience building and consuming

RESTful APIs

(GraphQL is a plus).


Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (

Docker

).

Nice to Have

Experience with frontend stack:

React / Next.js

(for better collaboration).


Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Supertest).


Exposure to

DevOps practices

, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK).

Previous experience in food tech, logistics, or e-commerce platforms.
