As a Backend Engineer at JAR, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our in-house loan management system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the system meets the unique needs of our organisation. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the financial operations of our company. Key Responsibilities: System Architecture: Design and architect the backend infrastructure of the loan management system, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Development: Develop robust and efficient backend components using industry best practices and the Mifos open-source platform as a foundation. Integration: Integrate the loan management system with other internal systems and external APIs as needed. Data Management: Implement data storage, retrieval, and manipulation functionalities, maintaining data accuracy and consistency Security: Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Testing: Write unit tests and perform thorough testing to identify and resolve bugs and issues. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the loan management system, including technical specifications and user manuals. Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless user experience. Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the loan management system, addressing any issues or enhancements that arise. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in building lending products and loan management systems. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong background in Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages. Experience with open-source loan management systems, preferably Mifos. Solid understanding of database design and management (SQL, NoSQL).Familiarity with RESTful API design and development. Knowledge of security best practices and data protection. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience with microservices architecture is a plus.
