Backend Engineer (Python, FastAPI) - Remote (India)Role Overview
We are hiring a backend engineer with strong Python fundamentals and at least 2 years of experience building APIs using FastAPI or Django.

What You Will Do
Design, build, and maintain backend services using FastAPI
Take ownership of backend features from design to production
Write clean, readable, and scalable code that others can easily work with
Design APIs that are intuitive, consistent, and easy to evolve
Think through practical system design and data flow decisions
Work closely with frontend engineers to deliver complete features
Debug issues, improve reliability, and refine existing systems
Make thoughtful engineering decisions without overengineering
What We Are Looking For
Strong experience with Python backend development
Hands-on experience with FastAPI or Django
Solid understanding of REST APIs
Ability to reason about system design at a practical, real-world level
High ownership mindset
High agency you proactively improve systems and processes
Comfort working independently in a remote, async-first environment
Clear communication and good documentation habits
Familiarity with PostgreSQL or relational databases
Previous startup or early-stage company experience
