Job Summary:
The Back of House Crew supports the overall operations of the coffee shop by ensuring that all food items, ingredients, and equipment are properly prepared, organized, and maintained. This role focuses on food preparation, stock management, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards -- helping the Front of House (Baristas/Service Crew) deliver a smooth and consistent customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and portion food items, sauces, and ingredients in accordance with company recipes and standards.
Support beverage and food production by ensuring all necessary materials are available and properly stocked.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen, storage, and backroom areas.
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of all ingredients and supplies following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition.
Perform regular cleaning and sanitation tasks, including utensils, ovens, chillers, and preparation surfaces.
Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
Coordinate with the Front of House team to fulfill orders accurately and on time.
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
Support daily store operations, including opening and closing tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least High School Graduate; vocational or culinary background preferred.
Experience in food preparation or kitchen work is an advantage, especially in a branded coffee shop or quick-service restaurant.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork, organization, and time management skills.
Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move for long periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (about 11 kg).
Comfortable working in a warm or fast-paced kitchen environment.
