Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled

Back End Developer

with strong expertise in

Python (FastAPI)

, healthcare data standards, and cloud-native architectures. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in

NHS/healthcare projects

, building

secure, scalable APIs

, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge healthcare technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize

RESTful APIs

compliant with healthcare standards (FHIR R4 UK, SNOMED CT). Work on

MIG connectors

and

EMR integration strategies

for seamless healthcare data exchange. Implement

FHIR mapping tools

and manage healthcare interoperability. Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure smooth

frontend-backend integration

(Material UI exposure preferred). Apply strategies for

data staleness detection

and

progressive loading

to improve system performance. Develop and optimize

asynchronous data aggregation

and caching pipelines. Secure systems using

purpose-based access control

, role mapping, and data suppression models. Deploy and manage solutions in

containerized environments (Docker)

. Integrate solutions with

AWS services

(Secrets Manager, etc.). Work within

mono-repo architectures

and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Ensure compliance with healthcare

authentication mechanisms

(CIS2, Optum Healthcare One). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including

frontend, data, and integration specialists

. Use

Agile tools

(Rally or similar) for project management and sprint tracking.

Required Skills & Experience

4-6 years of backend development experience, with strong focus on

Python (FastAPI)

or similar frameworks. Strong understanding of

FHIR R4 UK

,

SNOMED CT

, and healthcare interoperability. Prior experience in

healthcare/NHS-related projects

(highly desirable). Hands-on experience with

RESTful API design

and healthcare data models. Familiarity with

MIG connectors

and EMR integration. Strong knowledge of

asynchronous data processing and caching strategies

. Proficiency with

AWS services

,

containerization (Docker)

, and

CI/CD pipelines

. Experience in

frontend-backend coordination

and Material UI exposure. Knowledge of

pluggable authentication frameworks

(CIS2, Optum Healthcare One). Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with mono-repo development environments. Prior work in regulated healthcare/clinical data environments. Knowledge of advanced data security and compliance frameworks.
