We are looking for an Azure Backend Engineer to join our team of Unity developers. As a team, we are working on creating innovative solutions and tools using the Unity game-engine to enhance engineering processes and workflows. Main Roles & Responsibilities
As an Azure Backend Engineer, you'll be:

  • Designing, building and documenting REST APIs, using Azure Functions and API Management.
  • Modelling, querying and optimizing engineering data in Cosmos DB, like partitioning, indexing and tuning for performance & cost.
  • Creating ETL pipelines (in Azure Functions) to ingest data assets and transform them for real-time use.
  • Securing services with Azure Entra ID: implementing authentication flows (i.e. OAuth2), role-based access and token lifecycle management.
  • Shipping infrastructure as code in Bicep, and automate CI/CD with Azure DevOps (build, test, deploy).
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and continuously improving production workloads (Application Insights).
  • Collaborating daily other developers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Education and Work Experience
In all positions, there are some things that are preferred, and others, a bonus. If you do not meet all the qualifications listed below, you are welcome to offer alternative experience that you think would be valuable in this role:
  • You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or similar.
  • Hands-on development with Azure Functions and API Management in a production environment.
  • Strong C# and Python skills.
  • Knowledge of Cosmos DB (SQL API) including change-feed, scaling and consistency models.
  • Proven track record designing, versioning and securing public/internal APIs (OAuth2, OpenID Connect or similar).
  • Experience building data-ingestion or ETL pipelines.
  • Infrastructure-as-code using Bicep (or ARM/Terraform) plus Azure DevOps pipelines.
